Nigeria with a population of over 200 million people is the largest producer of oil in Africa and the 11th largest producer in the world. It is one of Africa’s most dominant economies, generating the largest GDP on the continent, according to the IMF. Despite her extraordinary economic potential, Nigeria has constantly battled with severe power problems over the years. This has crippled vital sectors of the country and led to an unsustainable reliance on fossil fuels for energy production across businesses and households.

Harnessing Solar Power
It is often said that the development of a nation is proportional to the energy resources at its disposal and the extent to which that energy is used. Nigeria’s weather conditions are good enough to make the country a key player in the renewables sector. The country reportedly gets over 2600 hours of sunlight per year. Properly harnessing this solar energy potential is key to solving our energy problems.
Solar energy is one of the cheapest available forms of energy in the World today. This clean energy source is gotten when heat from the sun is transformed into thermal or electrical energy. Solar thermal systems harness energy from the sun and convert it to heat that can be transferred into homes, businesses or hospitals for heating (Hot water, Space heating).
Solar Photovoltaic systems consists of several components including Solar Panels that absorb, and convert sunlight into usable electricity. This electricity can be used to power homes, business and even communities. Solar can be connected to the nation’s electricity to increase power generation, or it can be run off grid.
Solar power provides a cheaper and more reliable energy source for users. It is cost effective, requires little maintenance and provides much greater return. Solar panel systems are estimated to serve users for more than 25 years. They also quite safe for the environment, as they don’t produce carbon emissions like fossil fuel technologies.
Positives
The government has shown commitment towards resolving the power challenges and is constantly seeking to scale up RE in the country. Efforts are being made to promote Clean Energy through the development of various reforms, policies and legislations to ensure the country taps fully into it enormous potential.
The demand for energy is constantly on the rise and is not slowing down anytime soon. Energymall Nigeria specifically seeks to meet the needs of businesses, which we know cannot function effectively without power. We offer energy efficient services; solar power solutions, lighting, batteries and proper electrical wiring to ensure we meet all their energy demands.
With recent installation projects at Reddington hospital complex, Ikeja; Electricity correction for hospitals in Victoria Island and energy audits for offices in V/I, Lekki, we are constantly seeking to expand our reach and achieve our goal of being the go-to company for all things clean energy.
